Credit Reports
Fort Lee and NYC Attorney/Mediator Elaine H. Nissen, Esq. reported on a Mediator's Email List that: Beginning September 1st, the three nationwide credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian and Transunion) will have unified toll-free telephone number, website and mailing address to order credit reports. The Fair Trade Credit Reporting Act requires one free consumer credit report per 12-month period.
Toll-free: 1-877-322-8228
Mail (complete a Form and send it to):
ANNUAL CREDIT REPORT REQUEST SERVICE
PO Box 105281
Atlanta, GA 30348-5281
If anything doesn't look right the three bureaus need to be contacted immediately and they must by law address your concerns and fix what turns out to be errors - contact info will arrive with the credit reports.
This is a lot easier than the former procedure of contacting the three bureaus separately.

On September 19, 2005, The Star Ledger reports in the Ask The Biz Brain column by Liz Pulliam Weston that you are NOT entitled to get a credit score free from the three major ceredit bureaus -- however, you are now entitled to free annual copies of your credit reports, but credit scores are not included in the deal.
Reportedly, all three bureaus will sell scores to consumers, but Equifax is the only bureau offering the same FICO score lenders use (the other two, Experian and Trans Union, sell "consumer education scores," which are not typically used by lenders).
Ms. Weston reports that to get your FICO scores from all three bureaus, you can visit www.myfico.com, and purchase a report for about $45.
